Sensics Adds New Models and Delivers Major Technical Enhancements to Its piSight Line of Panoramic Head-Mounted Displays

Improved high resolution, panoramic field of view product line meets a very wide range of performance and budget requirements, starting at about $27,500 for a three-million pixel, 120-degree model

Baltimore, MD– November 15th, 2007 – Sensics, the panoramic head-mounted display company, introduced today new models into its piSight line of head-mounted displays. Additionally, Sensics introduced a wealth of optical, electronic and mechanical improvements applied to its entire product line. These enhancements combine to form the clearest, highest-resolution image, lowest power consumption of any high-end head-mounted display on the market.
“Since launching our product last year, we’ve listened to dozens of corporate and government customers, thus gathering and prioritizing ideas for product enhancements. Many of these improvements are being unveiled today.” says Yuval Boger, CEO of Sensics. “We will continue our relentless effort to satisfy customers while delivering higher immersion, better quality and a truly compelling personal display experience”.

   Key announcements include:

  • Six new mid-range configurations (from 79 to 127 degrees field of view), including a 120-degree model with three million pixels that is offered in the US for an introductory price of $27,500.
  • Improved optics that present a clear, bright picture with vibrant colors throughout the entire panoramic field. These new optics are also lighter: the entire weight of the optical and display module (excluding the head-mount) for a 6-million pixel headset is only 50 grams (approx 1.75 oz)
  • Miniaturized, portable and power-efficient control electronics (approx 20x2x8 cm, 8x0.75x3 inch) and are suitable for very portable application. These DC-powered electronics typically consume fewer than 5 watts (including power for displays) for a 6 million pixel unit.
  • Option for cables as long as 100 meters (325 ft) between control electronics and HMD

These models are available immediately through Sensics and its global network of resellers and partners.
